eClamp

REAL-TIME VISION OF THE MEDIUM VOLTAGE NETWORK STATUS

eClamp® is a technological platform that monitors and performs predictive analysis by detecting electrical arcs, temperatures, voltages, currents, and other parameters in the operation of mining plugs.

eClamp® detects and helps anticipate real-time failures in the network, such as damaged plugs, voltage drops caused by crushed cables, and current leaks.

eClamp® records the GPS position of each plug and displays it on the operation map.

Additionally, all real-time measured variables are visualized in a powerful SCADA software, which maintains strict version control of the elements connected to the network, contributing to a safer operation.

Finally, it includes an inventory, manufacturing, and repair tool that enables real-time traceability of all components.

Thanks to the sensing system installed within the mining plugs, communication technologies, and data analysis and display software, eClamp® increases the operational availability of productive assets and optimizes the use of energy distribution equipment.

The eClamp® platform consists of five modules:

  • eClamp® Sensors and Electronics: A set of sensors and dissemination means installed in the plugs.

  • SCADA Software for Design and Visualization of the Single-Line Diagram: Displays the variables measured by the eClamp® Kit and allows designing and managing the cable layout and their loads, producing the plans used in operations.

  • Traceability and Quality Management Software for Mining Cables and Plugs: Workshop and failure management software for cables and plugs. It enables inventory tracking of assets and monitoring of manufacturing and repair processes, complementing the eClamp® SCADA.

  • Mobile App to Enhance Worker Safety in the Field: Connects via Bluetooth with an eClamp® kit to view operational variable values on-site.

  • Operation Map with the Geographical Deployment of eClamp® Plugs.

With eClamp® you can:

•Measure in real-time plugs or cables that are failing.

• Visualize the cable and plug layout deployed in the operation.

• Assess and manage the quality of cable and plug stock, linking failure causes to workshops or personnel involved in manufacturing and/or repair.

• Locate the position of the plug network deployed in the field through a map.

• Real-time visibility of plugs with residual voltage due to capacitive effects.

• Ensure plug conditions before handling, based on real-time information provided by the platform's on-site App.

Key Components of the eClamp® platform

eClamp® Sensors and Electronics

  • Non-invasive, real-time monitoring of relevant variables within the mining plug:

  • RMS voltage per phase

  • Instantaneous current per phase¹

  • Temperature of each phase (nominal and normalized)

  • Ozone level due to electrical arcs

  • Electrical arc level

  • Humidity level

  • Mechanical stress level

  • GPS position of the plug

  • Continuous operation electronics powered by long-lasting batteries recharged via induction.

  • Data transmission over free, long-range radio frequency, enabling all plugs equipped with eClamp® system to communicate with the server.

  • Remote updates of eClamp® electronics with new firmware versions.

  • Plugs feature a safety ring with integrated LED lights to indicate location and operational status.

  • API available to provide eClamp® data to external software, facilitating integration into organizational processes.

  • Real-time alarms for crushed cables and voltage drops.

SCADA Software for Design and Visualization of the Single-Line Diagram

  • With eClamp®‘s Single-Line SCADA, you can:

  • Design the layout by registering new elements added or removed.
  • Use the appropriate symbols that communicate the position of each element.
  • Maintain strict version control of layout changes to ensure that your operators always work with the latest authorized version.
  • Visualize in real-time the operational status and the sensed variables of all plugs with an eClamp® installed.
  • Detect plugs and cables in the process of failure, allowing the organization to anticipate potential events and take preventive actions.
  • Visualize an alarm showing the potential danger of overconsumption of the network powered by a cell, by comparing it with the sum of the nominal maximum consumption of all its loads.
  • Supports symbols used in operations:

  • Substations with their cells
  • Splitters with their outputs
  • Cables of varying lengths
  • Symbols for underground, aerial, and LED cable layouts
  • Plugs with or without eClamp® installed
  • Electrical equipment such as shovels, drills, pumps, and general loads
  • Free text to highlight relevant information
  • Identification label for the plan
  • Multi-user SCADA software with user-type access controls.

  • Displays the geolocation of each plug with an installed eClamp® kit on a map.

  • Tool for analyzing voltage drops, identifying the point and time of occurrence.

Traceability and Quality Management in the Assembly of Mining Cables and Plugs

With the Traceability and Management Software, you can:

  • Manage the assembly and/or repair of cables, obtaining component traceability to assess the status of the entire inventory, and assign the eClamp® to the corresponding plug.
  • Centrally and efficiently visualize stock, with filtering options to analyze specific element characteristics.
  • Real-time graph visualization module for variables measured by each plug equipped with the eClamp® kit.
  • View and analyze the field reports that were recorded by the maintenance staff through the app, with photographic evidence.

eClamp aplicación móvil

With the mobile app, you can:

  • Check the operational variables recorded by eClamp® on a specific plug in the field via Bluetooth communication.
  • Perform firmware updates if necessary.
  • Report plugs with observations.

Operation map with the geographic deployment of eClamp® plugs.

With AGEOS (Aiko GEOposition System), you can:

  • Visualize an interactive geographic map of the eClamp® plugs deployed in the field.
  • Integrate the plugs managed by eClamp® with other sensors installed on other equipment, through AGEOS.
